A sequel to “The Thing From Another World” might have been interesting. Seeing how the West and the East, back during the Cold War, would almost be forced to cooperate in a joint effort to be ready to fight an expected full-scale invasion by the large “vegetable men” from outer space.

This is a hilarious comedy that never drags for a minute, but there is also a lot more in to appreciate in this film, especially if you are a fan of Japanese movies from before 1945. A classic. Excellent cinematography too. The entire movie with English subtitles can be found out there on the internet.

Don´t you love that little, ridiculous detail of Hitler kicking the stool? 😅😅😅 Typical of Hollywood! Mind you, most Americans and Britons believe this crap since they were conditioned by years of intensive propaganda.

"The Desert Fox" is a 1951 biographical film that tells the story of German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel during World War II. While the movie takes some liberties with historical accuracy, it does portray Rommel as a military leader who was willing to stand up to Adolf Hitler, at least to some extent. Erwin Rommel was a highly respected military strategist and commander in the German army, known for his successes in North Africa. In the film, Rommel, played by actor James Mason, is depicted as a loyal soldier who initially supports Hitler and his regime. However, as the war progresses and Rommel witnesses the atrocities committed by the Nazis, he becomes disillusioned with Hitler's leadership. One of the key moments in the film occurs when Rommel is called back to Germany and meets with Hitler. Rommel expresses his concerns about the conduct of the war and the treatment of prisoners of war. He argues that Germany should seek a negotiated peace to avoid further destruction and loss of life. However, Hitler dismisses Rommel's concerns and insists on continuing the war. While "The Desert Fox" portrays Rommel as a man of integrity and moral character, it is important to note that the film takes certain dramatic liberties and simplifications for storytelling purposes. In reality, Rommel's relationship with Hitler was more complex, and he was not as outspoken against the regime as the film suggests. Rommel did express his discontent with Hitler's leadership in private conversations and was involved in a plot to overthrow Hitler towards the end of the war. However, it is unclear how far Rommel would have gone in openly opposing Hitler had he not been implicated in the plot. In 1944, Rommel was forced to commit suicide after being accused of involvement in the July 20th plot to assassinate Hitler. In summary, while "The Desert Fox" portrays Erwin Rommel as a military leader willing to stand up to Hitler, it is important to view the film as a fictionalized account of historical events. Rommel did have disagreements with Hitler and expressed his concerns privately, but the extent of his opposition to Hitler's regime is a matter of historical debate.
